Why are you passionate about the topic you speak about?
Hands down, I believe that LinkedIn is the BEST business and relationship development social media platform on the market for professionals. Unfortunately, a growing number of LinkedIn users are under-utilizing and/or misusing the platform which then dilutes its effectiveness and intended purpose and mission to "connect the world’s professionals to make them more productive and successful." Source: LinkedIn mission statement.
When used correctly, LinkedIn is a powerful tool that helps individuals and organizations increase revenue, build profitable strategic partnerships, stand up brand ambassadors, land dream jobs, and more! How do I know that? Because within the 1st 24 months of implementing our B.O.O.S.T.® methodology internally, our business generated $500,000+ in new consulting revenue!! I've since personally trained 7,500+ individuals and organizations to reach their desired outcomes. So, why am I passionate about this topic? Because it affords me an opportunity to practically and personally connect with individuals and organizations to B.O.O.S.T.® their business success - however they define "success"!
What is the best advice you have ever received as an expert, speaker, coach, student, human being, and why?
Extend grace. Give people the benefit of the doubt because you never know what load or burden they are carrying.
Who do you admire and why?
Mable Dabney Kemp Hubbard, my maternal grandmother who doubled as my godmother. She was a pillar of strength and woman of great faith who never allowed life's challenges - or the people around her - to steal her joy and sense of humor. If I ever felt down and needed a quick "pick me up", I could always count on my grandmother to encourage and uplift me. Even her final words to me left me with a smile and laughter. She's forever in my heart. God rest her precious soul!
What is one piece of advice you could share with our readers to uplift them in life and career?
"Believe in yourself. You are braver than you think, more talented than you know, and capable of more than you imagine." Roy T. Bennett
What is your favorite book and how did it inspire you?
"How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie! This book is a classic and must ready for any/everyone! It lays out practical, actionable, and timeless strategies to build strong relationships and gain buy in. It's useful for business and personal relationships.
What do you do to relax?
Read, power walk, and play tennis with my husband.
What are some of the challenges you face as a speaker, expert or coach, or student and how do you overcome those?
Challenges: So much to share, so little time ... AND, keeping people's attention in light of constant distractions and competing priorities. Strategies to overcome: I bring loads of energy to my delivery and style, plus I keep it simple. I deliver content in bite-sized pieces to make it easier to digest. I keep my content and delivery light and fun by incorporating jokes, and infuse loads of engagement - hands on, calling on volunteers, Q&A.
…not for the faint of heart! To whom much is given, much will be required.
What is the one thing you do every day that adds to your success?
Pray and meditate.
